BIOGRAPHY:

Monifa Jansen; (born March 1993) is a beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Curaçao Universe 2011 and will represent her country in the 2011 Miss World pageant.

Jansen will not take part in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant broadcast live from São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011 because she did not meet the age requirement to participate in the pageant. Jansen's first runner-up, Evalina van Putten, will compete instead in the pageant.

Since Jansen couldn't compete in the Miss Universe 2011 pageant she will instead compete in the Miss World 2011 pageant in London, United Kingdom on November 8, 2011, trying to win Curaçao's first Miss World title.

Road to Miss World 2012


Miss World 2012 will no longer happen in July. The new Miss World will be crowned on August 18, in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. Contestants will start arriving in China on July 20.


The current Miss World is Ivian Sarcos, from Venezuela.

Miss America Pageant today announces the finalists of 2012 Quality of Life Award. They are Arkansas, Hawaii, Kentucky, New York, Ohio, Michigan and New Hampshire. Congratulation to all the finalists!

The Quality of Life Awards were initiated in 1988 as the result of a concept developed by the Miss America Organization for a television sponsor. They were the first community service-related awards presented to Miss America contestants. For the past few years, the Miss America Organization has been the sole sponsor of the few awards to national contestants.
The winner and runners-up will be announced during Miss America Week. They will be asked to receive their awards during a press conference and photo opportunity.

Rules for disbursement will follow the Scholarship Rules & Regulations of the Miss America Organization.
